NYMERIA
THE DIREWOLF
Direwolves are larger than average wolves that appear frequently in mythology and tales from explorers. The most notable direwolf was Fenrir of Norse mythology, a giant direwolf bound by the gods who eventually broke free from his bonds and ripped the arms off of them. Direwolves live, travel and hunt in packs like their regular wolf counterparts, but their larger build also means that they are both stronger and faster. Direwolves also possess a much higher intellect and are able to learn and understand the language of other species after living with them. Direwolves are also very tactical and adept hunters, able to sneak up to, ambush, and then quickly take down very large prey such as mammoths.
BIO
Six direwolf pups were found and spared of death by the children of House Stark, with each child adopting one pup. Nymeria was the name given to the pup adopted by Arya Stark, after the warrior queen Nymeria of a thousand years ago. Arya raised and trained Nymeria, forging a strong relationship in the process. After a series of unfortunate events led to the deaths of several of Nymeria's pack, Arya forcefully sends her away in fear of her safety. Nymeria is loyal to Arya and sees her as family, attacking any who threaten her safety
ABILITIES
SMELL FEAR
Direwolves possess an impeccable sense of smell and are able to detect not just their prey, but the individual pheremones given off by it. Fear has a distinct scent to direwolves - the scent of weakness. This will only drive them to take advantage of the moment and strike harder and faster.

STEALTH
Stealth is of utmost importance for a direwolf. One that is unable to master stealth is unable to hunt for food so only the stealthiest survive. Direwolves are able to move about so quickly and quietly it allows them to flit in and out of cover until they are close enough to deal a quick lethal strike.

POWER OF THE PACK
One might come across a lone direwolf, but make no mistake, his pack is always nearby. Direwolves never leave any of their pack behind - not even their fallen comrades, whose carcasses they consume so as to carry with the pack in spirit. One direwolf might not be anything special, but direwolves never come alone.
