Phoenixes are highly intelligent magical birds associated with fire. Their plumage is usually red and gold, but some have been reported to be rainbow. Despite being gentle herbivores that prefer to live in seclusion, phoenixes are well known for their savage aggression when fighting - usually the case when protecting their young. Phoenixes have incredible abilities that make them a fearsome foe and most other creatures will stay away from a phoenix lest pick a fight with one.

FAWKES
THE PHOENIX
Fawkes was the inseparable loyal companion to Albus Dumbledore, the late headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He lived together with Albus and faithfully served him for at least 59 years, up till the Battle of the Astronomy Tower where Albus was killed. After the battle ended in victory, Fawkes sang his lament for the loss of Albus and proceeded to leave, continuing to live on as a free phoenix.
ABILITIES
REBIRTH
Phoenixes, while mortal and still capable of death, are able to be reborn from the flames and ashes of their dying body. This grants phoenixes eternal life, meaning they are capable of sustaining lethal hits and injuries in battle.

HEALING
Phoenix tears have incredible healing powers - able to treat the most severe wounds or cure the deadliest poisons with just a few drops.

FIRE AFFINITY
Fire is the element of phoenixes and as such, they are immune to all aspects of fire. Phoenixes are also able to summon superhot flames at will, often surrounding itself with these flames as a form of protective warding.
